They have a great deal of supporters; however, the Surrey Creep Catchers leader, Ryan Laforge, was sentenced for a pair of assaults linked to the group’s actions last year.
Laforge was arrested back in September. In fact, a viral video even shows his arrest. In the video, he shouts “SCC for life!” In addition, he tells the man filming the video to post it online.
On April 3rd, 2017, a confrontation between Laforge and another man who was the target of a sting operation resulted in serious threats. Reportedly, the man was soliciting a six-year-old girl for sex.
After that account, Laforge lured a second predator on April 16th. Although he fled the scene before police arrived, he was later charged with assault.
On Monday, May 28th, he was sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of assault. As a result, he will spend 12 months probation on a conditional discharge.
Another member of the group, Lance Loy, was arrested in April 2017. Last week, he also pleaded guilty to an assault charge; he will also spend a year on probation in lieu of jail time.

Surrey Creep Catchers
The Surrey Creep Catchers are group that sets out to “catfish” suspected pedophiles and therefore expose them.
Specifically, the group poses as underage girls online in order to lure suspected pedophiles to a meeting place where they confront them about their motives.
Although Laforge stated the group won’t conduct its stings any longer, he was insistent that the organization “won’t be going anywhere.”
