Milo, Amanda Seyfried, Dove Cameron, Ali Wong, Randall Park and more stars are in Vancouver this month shooting a wide variety of feature films and TV movies. There are at least 12 flicks scheduled to shoot in and around town during May 2018.

Pup Star Christmas
The 4th installment of home video movie series Pup Star has been filming in Vancouver this Spring. It wraps up May 4. The 3rd movie Pup Star: World Tour filmed in BC last year:

The Art of Racing in the Rain
The film adaptation of Seattle author Garth Stein’s novel of the same name started filming in Vancouver at the end of April. It stars Amanda Seyfried and Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us). The stars can be spotted working in town until July 23 when production wraps up.

Red Snow
This Indigenous Canadian drama adventure is scheduled to shoot from May 9 to 28. It has also been filming in the North West Territories. “The film is about a young Gwich’in man from Aklavik, N.W.T., who goes off to fight in Afghanistan and gets taken hostage by the Taliban.” describes CBC.
Untitled – Bermuda Triangle
This untitled Bermuda Triangle is attached to Sam Esmail, the creator of Mr. Robot and newly wed to Emmy Rossum (Shameless). Skydance is the studio behind the film which has a massive facility in Surrey. Filming is expected to start in May (previously earlier this Spring).

Untitled – Ali Wong & Randall Park
This untitled Ali Wong and Randall Park project unites the two comedians on screen in a romantic comedy for Netflix. They are both involved in ABC’s sitcom Fresh Off The Boat which Wong writes for and Park stars in. Park previously filmed in Vancouver for The Interview with James Franco and Seth Rogen.
Their Fresh Off the Boat show runner Nahnatchka Khan makes her directorial debut in this movie. It is expected to shoot in town form May 29 to July 21.

Wrapped Up
Last month the star-studded blockbuster Bad Times at the El Royale wrapped up filming in Vancouver. The cast included Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman, Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Bridges, Russell Crowe and Cailee Spaeny. The movie started filming in town in January.
Director Drew Goddard made his debut in 2012 with The Cabin in the Woods which also starred Chris Hemsworth. In addition, he’s known for being an Executive Producer in 2015’s space movie The Martian starring Matt Damon.
Dakota Johnson is no stranger to Vancouver having filmed the 50 Shades trilogy here over the last few years.

Mum’s the word on this film starring Ben Kingsley. Specifically, it was expected to start filming in town earlier this year. Now, it’s currently slated to ramp up this month.

Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt will be in Vancouver this summer for this action adventure movie based on a comic book series. The film is already set to release on June 19, 2019.
