The Vancouver Playhouse, formerly the Queen Elizabeth Playhouse, was built in the early 1960’s and is still known as one of the city’s prime venues for intimate performances.
It was home to the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company from 1962 until 2012 when it ceased operations due to financial difficulties.
During the 1980’s, the Vancouver Playhouse used a variety of different advertising methods, including radio and TV ads to promote their upcoming shows. Below is a televised advertisement from 1985 promoting season tickets for a variety of productions at the Playhouse.
