According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, snow is headed for Canada, although it won’t be at the same time for every province. Here’s what you need to know about the forecast so you can restock on those snowy weather essentials.

Fall Forecast in Canada: When Will it Snow?

The Old Farmer’s Almanac recently published its Fall 2026 Forecast, which includes predictions for all of Canada’s provinces. According to the forecast, “Canada is shaping up for a milder fall overall. Warmer than average temperatures are expected across much of the country, while cooler weather settles into parts of central and northern Canada and southwestern British Columbia.”

As always, there’s plenty of rain to come. Depending on where you’re located, you’ll most likely see above-average precipitation, although parts of B.C. are a notable exception to this trend. If you’re located in northern B.C., you’ll see below average rainfall. But for those in Metro Van and southern B.C., it’ll be wetter-than-normal conditions for you.

As for the snow, the Old Farmer’s Almanac Long-Range Weather Outlook predicts B.C. will see snowfall in late November. Notably, snowfall is expected to be below normal.

On the other hand, provinces like Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec will get their snow in October. New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland follow B.C.’s weather patterns, getting snow only into late November.
