An unfortunate fact of living in Metro Vancouver is that things come and go at a rapid pace. Fads fade away, shops close up, and everything about living here is just a little bit (or a lot a bit) competitive. You don’t need to tell that to a retailer or restaurant owner– they already know half the of it.
The closure of restaurants is nothing new for Vancouver. But what is always interesting is when something new pops up atop of it, and that tends to make heads turn out of curiosity.
FROM RAMEN TO COFFEE
Ramen One was the one and only solo ramen dining experience in Vancouver. Although they’re quite popular in their birthplace of Japan, it seemed that Vancouver just wasn’t the right fit for it.
Notably, within Ramen One was also a coffee shop called 404 Coffee, where you could get your caffeinated drinks through their takeout window. Their future was very up-in-the-air since Ramen One’s closure announcement.
Luckily, it turns out that 404 Coffee will instead be using Ramen One’s vacated space to expand their operation into 404 Coffee Lab.
A NEW FUTURE
404 Coffee Lab intends to be an extended version of their original concept, combining all the best parts of their coffee and community together into one shop.
The concept will be fairly similar to what Ramen One previously was. Separated into solo and communal dining zones, people will be able to enjoy their meal however they choose. If you want a private, quiet experience on your own– that’s totally doable. All you have to do is order via QR code and then kick back and relax.
And if you’re coming with friends or family, then you can receive full-service from 404 Coffee Lab’s staff. Customers also get to order from 404 Coffee Lab’s new and extended menu no matter how they prefer to eat. They will be adding fusion pasta dishes, curries, and desserts to their offerings.
404 Coffee Lab will be opening on May 30, so head to 433 West Broadway to get your coffee and enjoy a dining experience like no other.
