Downtown Vancouver is feeling as festive as ever, and that means it’s the perfect time to hop onto Destination Downtown’s annual Ferris wheel ride! It’s a great way to get some gorgeous views of the city all decked out in sparkling lights.
And what’s even better is that you can ride it completely for free on select days!

Vancouver’s New Holiday Ferris Wheel
From December 2 to January 3, 2026, the Ferris wheel will be open for rides at just $7 per person. Operating from Tuesday to Sunday, it’s the perfect activity to add a touch of whimsy to your holiday plans.
Positioned in the heart of downtown, the Ferris wheel is surrounded by a variety of other seasonal attractions. It offers riders a bird’s-eye view of the city’s twinkling holiday lights.
Operating hours:
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday-Thursday: 3:00-9:00pm
- Friday: 3:00-10:00pm
- Saturday: 12:00-10:00pm
- Sunday: 12:00-8:00pm
Visitors can pair their ride with amazing photos with Western Canada’s tallest Christmas tree, standing at a massive 76 ft. tall! Or grab your skates and head to the Robson Square Ice Rink, where free skating returns on December 1 and continues until February 28.
As for those free Ferris wheel rides, you can catch them every Tuesday in December. As of now, that would be Dec 16, 23, and 30.
