Get ready for the third annual stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow, returning to Langley this September.
This vibrant celebration of Indigenous culture is one of the largest events of its kind in Metro Vancouver. The event offers a chance to learn more about Indigenous ways of being and how knowledge is shared from one generation to the next.
stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow 2024
The stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow is more than an event; it’s a gathering meant to unite people in celebration. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy live performances, pow-wow drum beats, and authentic Indigenous cuisine.
This year’s event runs from September 13-15 at the Langley Events Centre.

A significant highlight is the Orange Shirt and Red Dress Specials on September 14. Drum groups and dancers will honour Residential School Warriors and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-spirit peoples (MMIWG2S). The event will also unveil a new MMIWG2S flag, symbolizing ongoing support for these communities.

In addition, the event will feature dance and drum competitions, with participants and vendors from across Canada and the United States. The powerful energy of the event will be amplified by Host Drum Bad Canyon and Honorary Host Drum Black Lodge, making it an unforgettable experience.

Phyllis Atkins, Manager of the stɑl’əw̓ Arts & Cultural Society, emphasizes the event’s mission: “Since inception, the stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow was intended to bring people together in a good way, with open hearts and minds. We wanted this to be a safe and inclusive event where everyone could witness the beauty and strength of our Indigenous culture.”
The event is organized by the stɑl’əw̓ Arts & Cultural Society in partnership with the Township of Langley. It is supported by the Government of Canada, United Way of BC, SurreyCares Foundation, City of Surrey, and City of Langley.
