When officers from the Delta Police Traffic Unit aren’t enjoying themselves re-creating iconic photos, they’re busy making sure our roads are safe.
On Thursday, they held traffic enforcement on Highway 17 and the results should terrify people.
According to police, 3 commercial vehicles were taken off the road due to unsafe conditions, while 67 tickets for speeding and 1 for excessive speeding were handed out.

According to ICBC’s website, the minimum fine for speeding against a highway sign is $138, but can go up to $196.
If you were to do the math and all 67 drivers were fined the minimum of $138, that’s nearly $10,000 in violation tickets handed out by Delta Police!
Once again folks, please slow down especially in rainy weather like we’re currently experiencing today.
