On Sunday, thousands took part in the 35th annual Vancouver Sun Run in downtown.
However, participants got a little more than they signed up for this year.

During the run, an unusual hailstorm came over the city, bombarding runners as they made their way through the streets.

Burnaby’s Justin Kent came in first place for the men’s division. His win marks the first time a local runner has won the Vancouver Sun Run in 27 years. Natasha Wodak won the women’s division, while Balraj Zimich was first in the wheelchair division.
