Mum’s the word on why WWE hasn’t had any events in Vancouver over the last few years. There’s a mix of explanations which have included a rumoured ban, seat taxes and sporting regulations – which also caused a hiatus for the UFC in Vancouver. House shows and live touring events have been taking place once or twice a year in Abbotsford, but not Vancouver… until now?

There are still no signs of television or pay-per-view shows returning to Vancouver anytime soon, so count yourself lucky if you attended one in the 90’s. Vancouver hosted two “In Your House” PPV’s: International Incident on July 21, 1996 and Rock Bottom on December 13, 1998.

Fans may remember the last televised RAW IS WAR in Vancouver at General Motors Place (now Rogers Arena) on Monday, May 29th 2000. There was reported violence and destruction and a rumoured ban from the arena after that event. From then on, house shows have taken place at PNE Agrodome, PNE Coliseum and Abbotsford Centre.
Pro-wrestler turned Hollywood icon, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is set to star in the action thriller movie Skyscraper which begins filming in China and Vancouver this summer.
Event dates are reported “tentative live event dates” and subject to change.
