A fight broke out between two former badminton doubles partners from Thailand at the Canada Open which took place inside the Richmond Oval this past weekend.
Right after a change of ends in the doubles final, Bodin Issara charged at Maneepong Jongjit leading both players into the neighboring court where Jongjit went down and was punched multiple times by Issara. Issara, who required two stitches after the scuffle, claims Jongjit hit him first with a badminton racket. (The pair had already received a warning from the referee following a verbal exchange.)
Jongit and partner Nipitphon Puangpuapech, both from Thailand, were awarded the victory after Issara was shown a black card.
