The heat wave currently strangling Metro Vancouver is going to continue well into the weekend.
Environment Canada has issued another heat warning for Friday, with temperatures expected to reach 31°C inland, and 26°C closer to the water.

Temperatures are expected to remain steady on Saturday, with more dry weather and clear skies in the forecast. Sunday will see temperatures soar to 33°C inland.

Metro Vancouver Weather Warning
Heat Warning in effect for:
- City of Vancouver – including Burnaby and New Westminster
- Metro Vancouver – northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge
- Metro Vancouver – southeast including Surrey and Langley
- Metro Vancouver – southwest including Richmond and Delta
- North Shore – including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
Environment and Climate Change Canada, in conjunction with Medical Health Officials, have issued this alert due to the persistent high daytime temperatures, warm overnight low temperatures and the extended duration of this warm period.
Environment and Climate Change Canada and Medical Health Officers are reminding people to take precautions to protect themselves from the heat, including:
- Stay hydrated by drinking cold beverages, preferably water.
- Spend time in an air-conditioned facility for at least several hours every day.
- Avoid sunburn by staying in the shade and using sunscreen with SPF 30 or more.
- Never leave people or pets in a parked car.
