The Vancouver Public Library will soon be receiving a major expansion, with many enhancements— including new meeting places, exhibit spaces, a theatre, a reading room and a ‘garden in the sky’ public garden, just to name a few.
The public garden on the roof will likely be a bit hit for visitors to enjoy the outdoors in the heart of the city.

The plans for the central library are being displayed in the Level 7 foyer. There you can find the floor plans, architectural renderings and models of the building and its upcoming renovations.
Construction is set to begin during the first half of 2017, with a completion date slated for March 2018.
With the new expansion, there will be a lot more space for people to host community events and meetings, have a place to read and study or just have a nice spot to hang out on those rainy afternoons.
