A new survey has ranked the world’s most expensive cities and the findings might surprise some people.
For the first time ever, the annual Economist Intelligence Unit survey had three cities tied for the most expensive city in the world.

Singapore, Paris, and Hong Kong topped the list. In this year’s top 10, Singapore represents the only city that has maintained its ranking from the previous year.
Surprisingly, Vancouver didn’t make the list.
The Worldwide Cost of Living Survey compares more than 400 individual prices across 160 products and services in cities around the world. Items such as food, drink, transport, and utility bills are factored in to determine a city’s ranking.
For example, a 1kg loaf of bread costs US $3.40 in Singapore, while it costs US $5.66 in Paris.

The survey also ranked Caracas (Venezuela) as the cheapest city in the world.
