Vancouver’s Hollywood Theatre is about to go full throttle with its newest event series: Punk Night. This isn’t a nostalgia night or a watered-down playlist, it’s a no-apologies, high-energy dance party dedicated to punk in all its messy, defiant, and legendary glory.
A Night of Punk, Drag, and Dance
Presented by FANGIRL, Punk Night delivers more than just a soundtrack. Expect deejay sets by WAIT//LESS and EVILYN13, live punk drag performances hosted by Victoria Lush, and photography by Megan Magdalena capturing the chaos.
The mix spans decades of influence and rebellion, spinning tracks from The Clash, Bikini Kill, Blondie, Ramones, Sonic Youth, The Runaways, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Viagra Boys, and more. If you’ve ever lost yourself in a basement show or blasted punk in your headphones on repeat, this is your night.
Punk Without Apologies
Forget polish, Punk Night is about noise, grit, and community. Come dressed however you want, dance however you feel, and shout along to the anthems that shaped music history. With drag performance, underground energy, and a 2 am curfew, it’s a space to let loose and embrace the chaos.
And yes, you can even DM the DJs with requests but as the organizers put it: “No Crybbz.”
