More and more UBC students are turning to “sugar daddies” to pay off student debt and tuition, apparently.

This is according to a new ranking by SeekingArrangement, which indicated that UBC was the fastest growing sugar baby school in BC in 2018.

Self-proclaimed as the leading Sugar Daddy dating site with 10 million members, SeekingArrangement’s sugar baby school ranking had UBC come in seventh amongst other Canadian universities.

“The number of university students in Canada seeking Sugar Daddies and Sugar Mommies rose 44 percent from the previous year” reads their website.

On average, students receive a monthly allowance of $2,925, and also networking opportunities and career or business advantages.

The Sugar Daddy dating site claims that as education costs increases, so do the number of sugar babies.
