Getting home safely after a night out is important and TransLink will be offering free bus/train services on New Years Eve to further encourage customers to take transit.
All of TransLink’s transit services will be free of charge after 5pm on December 31st until 5am on January 1st.

The gates will be left open during this time and customers should not tap in or out with their Compass cards after 5pm. If you’ve already tapped in before 5pm, you will still need to tap out to ensure you are being charged the correct fare.
New Years Eve Transit Changes:
- Bus service will run usual Saturday schedules with some routes running additional evening/late-night trips after their normal schedules. Use the Trip Planner.
(with the date of Dec. 31) to check your route and bus times.
- SkyTrain service will be extended by approximately one hour and include more frequent trains throughout the evening.
- SeaBus will be extended by one hour. The last sailing from Lonsdale Quay will be at 2:02 a.m. and the last sailing from Waterfront will be at 2:22 a.m.
- West Coast Express and extended 701 buses to Mission will not operate.
