On Saturday, officers in Abbotsford tranquilized a black bear who was wandering around in the city.
The bear, about three-or-four-years-old, was spotted by a patient at the Cottage-Worthington Pavillion.

Nurse Parm Sahota got her phone out and immediately started recording video footage of the bear.
Abbotsford police were notified of the situation and arrived to the scene shortly afterwards.
Officers were able to scare the bear up a tree, where conservations officers were eventually able to tranquilize it.
Firefighters hoisted him out of the tree and back down onto the road near Abbotsford Senior Secondary School.

Bears are slowly coming out of hibernation this time of year and are making their way through specific residential neighbourhoods.
People are reminded to keep their garbage locked up and bring it out only on collection day, as bears may make their way through it.
