If you happen to travel along Alex Fraser, you may want to plan a little extra time for your commute.
The BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says to expect overnight and weekend lane closures beginning this week.
There will be signage to follow as well as flag persons conducting drivers through construction-zone speed limits.

Lane closures will make way for routine maintenance and construction work being done to replace two expansion joints on the bridge. The closures can happen in either direction, depending where crew members are working at any given point in the project. As such, closure times will vary as well.
The closures began on Sunday, August 22 and will stay in place until January 2022.
The work on Alex Fraser Bridge will generally occur at the following times:
- Weekdays: overnight 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Weekends: overnight 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.
