Top 7 Free Activities In Vancouver This September

With the transition of summer to fall, it may feel like all the fun events that are associated with summer time have diminished, when actually this is not the case!

Below are 7 fun, free and exciting activities and events to keep you entertained, Vancouver!

1. The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, September 15-23

Join your fellow Vancouverties, and help cleanup our beautiful beach shorelines, after they’ve kept up with us all summer long! For more information, click here.

2. Yelp Food Cart Festival @ The Waldorf. Every Sunday until Sept. 30

Due to popular demand, this event has been extended to the end of September! This event is free, and appropriate for the entire family, featuring live music, DJs, craft vendors, 19+ beer garden, and of course amazing food carts!

3. Grouse Grind Mountain Run, September 22

Vancouver’s toughest and most rewarding staircase’s annual Mountain Run is almost here! This free event allows Vancouverites to hike 2.9km up Grouse Mountain! Also, on every weekend in September you will be able to climb up the mountain free of charge, however will need to pay for the ride back down!

4. The Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival, September 29

This multicultural event celebrates the harvest and the harvest moon, beginning at the Slocan Park Harvest Fair, attendees will follow the giant moon lantern’s along the candle lit ravine trail at sunset, enjoy fairy lights, moon cakes, fire spinners, stilt dancers and much more, all going on at Renfrew Park and Field!

5. Richmond Night Market, until October 8

The Richmond Night Market is the perfect way to spend a fun filled, free evening with the entire family! Of the two Richmond markets, this one is definitely more transit friendly, as it is conveniently located near River Rock, and Bridgeport Station of the Canada Line, at 8351 River Road. Featuring 80+ food vendors, 250+ retailers, entertainment and much more, it’s a perfect way to spend a cool autumn evening.

6. Granville Island Farmers’ Market, Every Thursday until October 25

Drop by any Thursday until October 25, and pick up local fresh and tasty seasonal produce! No better place for a Farmers’ Market than Granville Island!

7. Mount Pleasant Harvest Festival and Block Party, September 29

Stop by the Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House Harvest on the 29th, and take part of the fun! Featuring live music, workshops, BBQ and a Pie Eating Contest! Entry is free, some activities have a minimal cost, and workshops are by donation!
