Vancouver may be one of Canada’s most active cities, but not every kid here gets an equal chance to participate in organized sport. For many families, registration fees are a barrier too high to climb, especially in a city with an ever-increasing cost of living.
Enter KidSport Vancouver, a grassroots nonprofit with a mission: So All Kids Can Play. The organization has helped thousands of children and youth in the city access organized sports by covering registration fees for families in financial need.
And this month, they’re bringing back one of their most beloved and tasty fundraisers: the Pizza Pigout.
Taking place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Yale Saloon on Granville Street, this 19+ event blends all-you-can-eat pizza with community-building and charitable giving, drawing in Vancouverites who want to support local youth—one slice at a time.
An Appetite for Change
Sport isn’t just about goals, laps, and drills, it’s about belonging. It’s about giving young people the space to build confidence, friendships, and leadership skills that last a lifetime.
Yet despite its many benefits, organized sport remains financially out of reach for too many families. According to KidSport, the average registration fee for youth sports in Vancouver is between $300–$600 per season, not including equipment or travel.
In a city like Vancouver, where affordability continues to be a growing challenge for families, the Pizza Pigout helps remove financial barriers so that more kids can get in the game.”
In 2023, KidSport Vancouver helped over 300 children participate in sports ranging from soccer and swimming to basketball and martial arts. But the need continues to grow. Proceeds from this year’s Pizza Pigout will go directly toward funding more kids for the upcoming sports season.
What to Expect at Pizza Pigout 2025
This isn’t your average charity dinner.
From 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Yale Saloon will be transformed into a pizza lover’s paradise. Attendees will enjoy unlimited slices from some of Vancouver’s most celebrated pizzerias, while enjoying drinks, music, prize draws, and more.

KidSport Vancouver is one of over 40 chapters across British Columbia, operating under the larger KidSport Canada umbrella. Together, they’ve helped over 1 million Canadian kids participate in organized sport since 1993.
But even with that legacy, local fundraising remains critical. Unlike many national charities, funds raised in Vancouver stay in Vancouver—meaning every ticket sold for Pizza Pigout directly benefits kids in the Lower Mainland.
