Informing the launch of the Fresh For Less Menu is Subway Canada’s commissioned State of Lunch Report, which goes into detail about how Canadians are feeling about their lunches.

Notably, Canadians are feeling a progressing “Lunch Squeeze,” which notes that while “lunch remains important to Canadians… many are facing challenges finding fresh, affordable options that fit their busy lives and budgets.”

Here’s a look at some key findings:

85% of employed Canadians agree it’s harder to find fresh lunch options at a price they feel comfortable paying.
59% say they have skipped lunch during the work week.
Nearly 50% say food prices frequently influence their decision to skip buying lunch.
73% say lunch is an important part of their workday.
25% say they would choose fresher lunch options if lunch became more affordable.

Fresh For Less Menu

The Fresh For Less Menu offers a wide range of options that are all under $5. This includes lunch, as well as breakfast, snack, and side options, giving guests plenty of different things to try so that they can find what fits their appetite best.

On the new menu, Denny Downie, Managing Director and Head of Marketing at Subway Canada, said,

The newly launched Fresh For Less Menu gives Canadians greater choice and flexibility, with options under $5 that they can mix and match throughout the day.
