If you’re heading over the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge this weekend, you may want to plan for traffic or a detour.
Due to construction, the bridge will be partially closed, with traffic redirected in order to allow the work to be safely completed.

stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge Closures
From Friday, October 16 at 9:00pm until Monday, October 19 at 5:00am, King George Boulevard southbound will be closed as the final layer of paving works is completed on the new south approach bridge abutment. Additionally, one northbound lane will also be closed on stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge.
If you’re headed onto the bridge via southbound traffic, you will be detoured onto the new Highway 17 off-ramp onto Highway 17 westbound. Those headed to King George Boulevard can take the Highway 17 off-ramp to Tannery Road, to 120 Street/Scott Road and then King George Boulevard.

“All traffic pattern changes will be well signed, and traffic control personnel will be on site to assist as required,” reads a notice from the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project. “Information will also be communicated via traffic media and posted on DriveBC.ca.”
Construction activities will take place 24 hours a day. Drivers may also potentially experience longer than normal travel times due to detours.

Notably, this weekend’s work will be followed up by another weekend of closures, although next time for northbound drivers on stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge. More details are expected to come for this closure.
