North Vancouver Mayor Darrell Mussatto is looking to create a rapid-transit tunnel linking the North Shore to Vancouver.

The SkyTrain tunnel would run 3-kms underneath the Burrard Inlet. It would link Lonsdale Quay to Waterfront Station.

Mussatto is proposing that the transit service acts as another way of transportation.

It will also help combat congestion. The tunnel would ease traffic for commuters going across the bridge every day.

Commuters can use the Lions Gate Bridge or the Ironworker’s Memorial bridge to get to and from Vancouver. In addition, there’s also the SeaBus. Yet it continues to be one of the most congested areas of Metro Vancouver.
