RHOV Returns For Season 2 With Two New Housewives

We previously reported the Real Housewives of Vancouver scored a second season for 2013. RHOV is preparing to return for its second season in February with three new housewives joining three of the originals, Ronnie Negus, Mary Zilba and Jody Claman.

Replaced/missing will be Reiko MacKenzie and Christina Kiesel which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering Christina made it evident she was only doing one season and Reiko brought no drama to the reality-show. Slice is keeping the identities of the three new housewives private until the new year, however Ronnie has stated that none of the originals know the new wives. “We have three wonderful new girls and they’re completely unique, funny and bright! You have a lot to look forward to. I think season one was just a little taste of what our show is going to be all about!”

For the returning housewives, the decision to come back was a no brainer as they each boasted the platform that the reality show has given them – after all, this is the networks most-watched series to date.

Housewives thoughts on their return:

Mary Zilba: “It’s always a big decision when it comes to something like this. For me, it was an opportunity to expand. I’ve got a new beauty and fragrance line, I’ve also got some new singles and my charity work,”

Jody Claman: “I think it was such a privilege. The show was extremely successful and it was a platform to execute a lot of business opportunities for me and my charity work. My catering company, Jody’s Fine Foods, is reopening and we’re doing a cookbook. We’re also opening a second store for Glass House [her clothing boutique] in Toronto and we’re developing a line of dog food. The platform is huge. For me, it was humbling experience. It has truly changed my life for the better.”

Ronnie Negus confesses that she had no idea the first season was going to be as successful as it was, “I’m glad I could help with the ratings!” “We never knew it was going to be this big,”

A successful first season did appear to come at cost for both Negus and Zilba, who were best friends going into the show but later saw a strain on their friendship. The pair appears to be close again. “Let’s just put it this way, says Ronnie, “There are always ups and downs. At the end of the day, hopefully people can learn to mend broken fences. Life is too short. It’s fleeting and we’re all just trying to get along in this world. As far as the show though, if we were all best friends and there wasn’t any drama, then there wouldn’t be a show, right?”

You’re right Ronnie!

The second season of The Real Housewives of Vancouver premieres Tuesday, February 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Slice.
