Phase 1 of Whitecaps New UBC Facility Complete

We got a sneak peak into Phase One of the Vancouver Whitecaps new headquarters at the National Soccer Development Centre this past Monday on UBC’s Vancouver campus and boy is it looking great!

Our local Major League Soccer team is currently using facilities at Burnaby 8 Rinks while preparing for a major shift in 2015 to the brand spanking new 4,000 square-foot building that includes a full-size dressing room, rehabilitation room where the club’s medical staff will work, coach’s offices and an area for players to dine and relax when not on the pitch.

Two more phases still need to completed in the $32 million dollar project which will include the completion of a turf field, and the third phase will include the field house – a shared space between the Whitecaps and UBC.

The goal is to complete all three phases for the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada. In the meantime, the Whitecaps will now begin practicing at the new facility and will be posting their practice schedules online, so if you attend UBC, check them out between classes!
