With Translink’s Evergreen Line set to launch next Fall, the company’s order of 28 new SkyTrain cars has begun to arrive in Vancouver for testing.
Ordered from Bombardier in Kingston, Ontario, the new cars will be similar to ones on the Expo Line and Millennium Line, but with better LED lighting and larger windows on the front and back.
“These windows will extend down to waist height, improving passenger experience with better visibility and spaciousness during transit,” says TransLink.
The cost of the 28 new SkyTrain cars is reported to be $90.7 million.
