Ex-Mountie Caught In Surrey Creep Catchers Sting Pleads Guilty To Charges

Vancouver Police

A former RCMP officer has pleaded guilty to a breach of trust charge after he was the focus of a Surrey Creep Catchers sting nearly two years ago.

Dario Devic was arrested and charged with child luring and breach of trust in September 2016 after the Surrey Creep Catchers live streamed their confrontation with him.

The confrontation, which was streamed on Facebook, sees the vigilante group accuse him of attempting to meet an underage girl for sex.

Rishi Gill, Dario Devic’s lawyer, says that his client never had any intentions of meeting a minor.

The ex-mountie was discharged from the RCMP earlier this year following an internal Code of Conduct investigation.

The Creep Catchers are an active vigilante group that poses as minors online in an effort to expose alleged child predators.

They have a great deal of supporters; however, the Surrey Creep Catchers leader, Ryan Laforge, was sentenced this past May for a pair of assaults linked to the group’s actions last year.

Devic is due in court on September 11th.
