Metro Vancouver gas prices hit an all-time high this weekend.
Numerous gas stations across the region were charging 163.9 cents per litre on Saturday.
The previous all-time high? 161.9 cents, which was set back in April.
The sharp increase in gas prices can be attributed to a pipeline explosion near Prince George last week. This incident forced two of Enbridge’s natural gas lines out of service and has affected local markets.

A GasBuddy.com analyst said that the recent pipeline explosion has led to gasoline production reduction and as a result, higher gas prices.
So is relief at the pumps on the way for drivers in Metro Vancouver?
Experts believe that these abnormal gas prices will stick around for a few more days and people should see more normal prices in about a week.
