Meet “The Beast,” if you take on this challenge you will quickly learn why it’s called that and hate its very existence. You have to be a true meat lover to pound back this burger that’s made up of eight patties, eight double cheddar slices and eight double bacon strips. If you can eat this within just 30 minutes (or less), you win a T-shirt, get your photo up and the $40 burger is completely free. They’re located at 1818 Commercial Drive.

Moose’s Down Under

Chicken parmesan lovers…this is your Everest. Polish off a whopping chicken parm weighing in at 1-kg (and fries) within just 45-minutes. This feast should not be taken lightly. But if you are successful, you land right on their Wall of Fame, score a free T-shirt and get a free meal. Don’t finish it? Pay $35 for the dish. Take on this challenge at 830 West Pender Street.

Anton’s Pasta Bar

Even true Italians will struggle to finish this massive plate of pasta. Anton’s in Burnaby has a huge menu with every single kind of pasta, sauce and meat you could ever dream of. Their dinner portion is so big and can only be completed by those with the biggest of appetites. If you do complete it though, you get a commemorative pen saying “I can’t believe I ate the whole thing.” You may not get a free meal or your name on the wall but you do get all the glory of knowing you succeeded. Uncle Grant’s Eating Challenge at Lucy’s Eastside Diner This 24-hour joint on Main Street runs an extreme eating challenge. The Uncle Grant’s Eating Challenge consists of six four ounce beef patties, six pieces of cheese, 12 pieces of bacon, two grilled cheese sandwiches, a side of poutine, a side of mac and cheese (topped with a helping of pulled pork), and lastly a 26 ounce milkshake to help wash everything down. To be a challenge winner you must have conquered the massive meal in 20 minutes or less. For those who succeed the meal is free and they win a polaroid spot on the Wall of Fame.
