Lee’s Donuts Has Officially Landed in Lower Lonsdale And Yes, There Are Free Donuts

If you’ve ever lined up at Granville Island’s Lee’s Donuts for a fresh honey dip or maple old-fashioned, you know it’s more than just a donut, it’s a rite of passage. Now, donut lovers on the North Shore don’t have to hop the SeaBus to get their fix.

Lee’s Donuts has officially opened in Lower Lonsdale, bringing their handcrafted, small-batch donuts to the heart of North Vancouver. Donuts are baked fresh on site at their new shop at 100-124 West First Street, just two blocks from Lonsdale Quay and a short stroll from the Shipyards.

Free Donuts, Grand Opening, and All the Sweet Details

To celebrate their arrival, Lee’s Donuts is hosting a Grand Opening event this Saturday, April 5th. Expect special promos, giveaways, and—most importantly—plenty of donuts.

If you missed the free donut days in March, don’t worry. There’s still time to join the celebrations and maybe snag a treat or two. To stay in the loop, follow @leesdonuts.ca on Instagram.

A Taste of Vancouver, Rooted in North Van History

The new Lee’s location doesn’t just serve incredible donuts, it’s also got serious design cred. Created by Haeccity Studio Architecture, the interior takes inspiration from North Vancouver’s shipbuilding and industrial past.

The space features:

  • Reclaimed honey-tinted wood
  • Industrial metal touches
  • Custom cast bronze hardware

It feels like a warm, stylish nod to the working-class history of the Shipyards District, but with a modern twist that fits right into the evolving neighbourhood.

Donuts Made Fresh, While You Watch

One of the coolest features? The decorator’s corner window, where you can watch the donut magic happen in real time, glazing, filling, and sprinkling included. It’s a front-row seat to the kind of care that goes into every treat.

Inside, a tiered display case inspired by the local North Shore landscape showcases their signature flavours and seasonal creations. It’s an experience as much as it is a sugar rush.

What’s on the Menu?

Lee’s Donuts sticks to what they do best—classic recipes made from scratch, with real ingredients and lots of love. Some fan favourites to look out for include:

  • Honey Dip – light, fluffy, and glazed to perfection
  • Chocolate Cake Donut – rich and dense, ideal with a coffee
  • Maple Old-Fashioned – a Canadian classic
  • Seasonal Specials – think lemon curd in spring or pumpkin spice in fall

The menu rotates regularly, so every visit is a chance to try something new.

A Local Icon with Big Community Energy

“We’ve officially landed in Lower Lonsdale, and it’s been incredible meeting so many of you already,” said Allan B., Owner & CEO of Lee’s Donuts Inc. “We are grateful for the warm welcome and wanted to show our appreciation by offering free donuts throughout March. Whether you’re stopping by before a seawall stroll or just craving something sweet, we invite you to come in and enjoy one on us.”

It’s clear Lee’s isn’t just here to sell donuts, they’re here to be part of the community. Lower Lonsdale has been booming in recent years, with new restaurants, breweries, cafés, and boutiques transforming the area into one of North Vancouver’s most walkable and vibrant neighbourhoods. The arrival of a beloved brand like Lee’s Donuts only adds to that energy.

For locals, it means less time commuting and more time enjoying the simple things, like a donut with a view of the harbour. For tourists and day-trippers, it offers yet another reason to visit Lolo. Grab a coffee, stroll the pier, and finish it all off with a donut (or two).
