The Langley Events Centre just got a major boost of $25 million towards a brand-new, multi-purpose Concert and Performance Hall.

Anticipated to host a number of community gatherings like concerts, celebrations, and graduations, the Government of Canada made this investment in order to transform Langley’s future and bring this new space to life.

Canada Strong

This investment is part of Budget 2025: Canada Strong. Through the budget, the Government of Canada is working to “transform [Canada’s] economy… [into] one that is stronger.” In this, $25 million has been granted to the Township of Langley’s Concert and Performance Hall.

The funding is coming from the federal Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program. The program works toward improving where Canadians live and gather by bolstering the country’s resiliency to climate change. This includes a number of methods, such as cutting pollution and increasing energy efficiency.

The upcoming Concert and Performance Hall is slated to be an expansion to the Langley Events Centre.

“The fully accessible hall will feature a net-zero design that exemplifies energy efficiency and climate resilience,” said the Township of Langley in a news release. “It will host concerts, multicultural celebrations, Indigenous gatherings, school graduations, special ceremonies, conferences, and a variety of community events.”

“So many members of our community have long advocated for a concert and performance hall. We are incredibly grateful to the Government of Canada for this transformative investment in Langley’s future and helping to bring this vision to fruition,” said Eric Woodward, the Mayor of the Township of Langley.

Construction has yet to begin on the Concert and Performance hall. Although, Woodward says that work is already underway to begin a “design build process to finalize the facility’s size, scope, components and budget needed for public input and Council’s future consideration.”
