Sometimes you need to lose yourself in nature to find yourself again. This serene lodge in BC will let you do just that.
Escape to Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort for an unforgettable experience. It’s so secluded, you literally have to fly in just to get there. Nestled in the Great Bear Rainforest, it’s the most pristine area to soak up the great outdoors.
The resort is home to a small collection of cozy chalets nestled in the wilderness, right by the water.
Nature is right at your doorstep, with a plethora of activities to take in nearby. Just steps away you will come across a 5,000-foot cascading waterfall and lush old-growth forest.

As @kararosenlund found out while at Nimmo Bay last year, on assignment for @qftravelinsider, it’s all about the negative ions! “Turns out, negative ions have a positive effect on the human body, basically you feel better when water is breaking on your body – in the surf, in the shower or under a waterfall. I’m now all about the negative ions,” says Kara in her recent Travel Diary. Check out our stories for more photos! 📷: @kararosenlund #nimmobay
They don’t call it Great Bear Rainforest for nothing—the temperate rainforest has many bears, including the elusive Spirit Bear. Also known as the Kermode bear, this rare bear has naturally white fur.
The resort features nine spacious cabins, six intertidal cabins and three forest cabins. The intertidal cabins let you fall asleep to the sound of the water, with the tide right beneath you. The forest cabins can be found right beside the stream amongst the trees.
Getting to the resort is part of the adventure. You can fly in by seaplane from Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo or Tofino.
