Imagine opening your front door to retrieve the morning paper, and instead, finding a Ku Klux Klan flyer in its place.
That’s exactly what has been happening in Mission, Chilliwack and Abbotsford.
According to Global News, the hate literature has been popping up at more than a dozen homes in the area, leading to a police investigation of the matter.
The flyers, supposedly from the “Loyal White Nights of the KKK”, are plagued with racist quotes, one of them reading, “Yes! White lives do matter! We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children!”
Around 32 of these hate flyers were found by Const. Ian MacDonald after the Abbotsford Police Department were phoned by a resident just after 1am on Monday.
MacDonald says they are investigating the possible hate crime, which given the nature of the flyer, has sparked questions about the motive of such an act.
“The flyers are trying to get people to make contact with the KKK so part of the question is what’s the purpose of that? Is it to recruit like-minded people or something else?” he told the Abby News.
It is unclear at this time just how many people are involved in spreading the flyers.
