Instagram feeds are about to get a whole lot brighter. First there was tulips and now there are sunflowers. The very first year of the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival launches August 22nd.
Hosted by the same organizers who brought us Tulips of the Valley, the festival is celebrating the brightest flower of Summer—sunflowers.

These photos will give you an idea of what to expect but keep in mind they have not reached their full bloom potential yet. By the time the festival kicks off, there should be many more colours popping up!
It’s located at the same spot as the Tulips of the Valley and offers many family-friendly activities. Charming little fairy houses are nestled through the gardens for kids to find. There’s a ‘U-Pick’ area and a playground to keep the little ones occupied.

There are even some areas where you can wander off the beaten path a bit to find a little patio set up and a wooden porch swing. Get the perfect shot for Instagram with wooden frames you can hold up like a photo booth, a windmill, tractors you can sit on and an adorable vintage bike filled with sunflowers.

The land is also home to a farm where they grow hops for craft beer. This spot is also super awesome for photo-ops with its narrow passage encompassing you in lush greenery as you walk through.
Local food trucks will be on the scene to help cool you off while you enjoy the flowers. You can also get the perfect view overlooking the flowers at their raised platform.
