Vancouver is home to many traditions and annual events. But there is none so memorable as the World Naked Bike Ride.
This yearly protest event will once again be headed for Vancouver’s streets in the buff. If you also want to take part in the fight against car culture and oil dependency, then get into your birthday suit and grab your bike!
VANCOUVER WORLD NAKED BIKE RIDE
The World Naked Bike Ride is exactly what it sounds like: a bike ride while wearing nothing. Participants are actually invited to bear as much as they dare– so whatever you’re comfortable with showing.
While a protest against car culture and oil, it’s also a celebration of body positivity. Promoting gender equality and topless rights, the World Naked Bike Ride is a protest that intersects with plenty of important issues.
To join, all you need to do is head on over to one of three meeting spots at 2:00pm in your chosen attire.

DRESS CODE
As mentioned above, cyclists are invited to be as naked as they please. Plenty of participants get creative with their nudity by using body paint, writing messages or painting pictures across their skin. Fun costumes and cosplay are also encouraged– creativity in all forms is celebrated at the World Naked Bike Ride.
Safety is of the utmost importance, though! Everyone is encouraged to wear appropriate cycling shoes. And helmets are absolutely mandatory. If you’re in the nude, do remember to bring a change of clothes with you.
Once your ride is complete, you can also attend a celebratory picnic hosted by Naked Iconoclasts Fighting The Yoke (NIFTY).
Get ready to feel the sunshine in places that normally don’t get any sun with Vancouver’s World Naked Bike Ride!
