For their 40th anniversary, the Vancouver International Jazz Festival is returning bigger and better than ever for this monumental celebration. With a couple hundred free and ticketed concerts taking place from June 20 to July 1, 2025, there will be so much amazing music to enjoy.
As B.C.’s largest music festival, you won’t want to miss the amazing tunes from this year’s lineup.
VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL
The Vancouver International Jazz Festival is an annual event that hosts a series of concerts– and other events– for ten days. This year’s festivities will be for twelve days instead, meaning that you get even more free music and fun this summer.
While the primary venue is based in Granville Island, there are plenty of other ones throughout Vancouver and the North Shore. The venues have a mixture of free and ticketed events, with prices depending on the artist playing.

CONCERT LINEUP
As mentioned above, there are tons of shows to go to at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Specifically, there are 180+ events and 50 free shows, so you are definitely spoiled for choice when it comes to some great music.
Not sure which artist you should see first? No problem– features are always a great place to start.
Richard Bona’s Asante Trio is playing part of the Marquee Series on Monday, June 23, 2025. Richard Bona is a Grammy-winning musician, and his new group, Asante Trio, is “testament to his philosophy of cultural collaboration.” He’ll be playing at Vancouver Playhouse at 7:30pm with tickets ranging from $50 to $75.
You can also listen to New Jazz Underground at Performance Works on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Composed of Julliard-trained musicians push the boundaries of music to create something entirely new. They’ll be playing at 7:30pm, with tickets at $44 plus fees.
And then there’s Susie Ibarra: An Ecology of Rhythm as part of the Innovation series. She’ll be playing at Revue Stage on Saturday, June 28, 2025. She is a Berlin-based Filipinix-American percussionist and sound artist, crowned recently as a 2025 Pulitzer Prize winner. She’ll be playing at 9:30pm for $30 plus fees.
