Returning for its 45th anniversary is the Coho Festival! This family-friendly event invites everyone to learn about waterway stewardship and how we can enjoy wild Coho salmon through sustainable practices. It also features exhibitors, live music, and their famous Coho salmon barbecue!

COHO FESTIVAL 2025

The Coho Festival kicks off early at 7:30am with the Coho Swim. Folks are invited to take a dip into the waters to mimic the migratory patterns the Coho and other species of indigenous salmon have performed for millennia.

Aside from the swim, there’s plenty of on-land festivities that you can take part in, such as:

  • The Coho Salmon Barbecue, which includes BC con on the cob and locally grown salad.
  • The Coho Garden, where you can try local craft beers, cider, and wines.
  • The Stewardship Zone, which has over 20 exhibitors that are all working toward maintaining, rejuvenating, and improving waterways.
  • The Coho Kids Park. It’s the perfect place for the little ones to enjoy activities that will help them learn about art and culture. There’s also a climbing wall!

And don’t miss the Squamish Nation Canoe Family doing the traditional “Blessing of the Salmon” Ceremony on the Main Stage around 1:00pm.

The Coho Festival will take place in Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. Be sure to head there on September 7 to show your support for our local waterways and help raise funds for a great cause.
