Electronic music fans, this one’s for you.
Internationally recognized producer and DJ Dr. Fresch is set to perform at The Key in Vancouver on April 3, 2026, as part of a Western Canada run presented by Unlocked Entertainment.
The show follows his April 2 stop in Calgary and marks another major electronic booking for the 1,000-capacity venue at Plaza of Nations.
A Pioneer of G-House
For more than a decade, Dr. Fresch has built a reputation for blending house music with hip-hop swagger and midtempo bass. The result? A gritty, high-energy sound that helped define the G-house movement.
After winning Insomniac’s Discovery Project Contest in 2013, Tony Fresch officially launched the Dr. Fresch project. He quickly gained traction with his debut EP and a string of hip-hop-infused remixes that refused to fit neatly into one genre.
Shortly after his breakout, he landed at No. 9 on Billboard Magazine’s “Next Big Sound” chart. That recognition signaled the arrival of a producer who wasn’t interested in playing it safe.
The “House Call” Era and Beyond
In 2015, Dr. Fresch launched his semi-monthly mix series House Call. The format is simple but effective: a 30-minute Dr. Fresch mix followed by a 30-minute guest mix.
Since then, the series has racked up tens of millions of plays and now airs on SiriusXM. As a result, his influence within the electronic music community has continued to expand well beyond club circuits.
His 2016 collaboration with Baby Eazy-E, “Gangsta Gangsta,” went viral online and climbed the UK Club Charts. Meanwhile, his releases on labels like OWSLA, Insomniac Records, Atlantic, and Ministry of Sound further cemented his credibility.
Over the years, he has also performed at major festivals including EDC Las Vegas, Electric Forest, CRSSD, Splash House, Osheaga, and Shambhala.
A High-Energy Night at The Key
The Vancouver date represents another statement booking for The Key.
Located at 750 Pacific Blvd near BC Place and Rogers Arena, The Key has positioned itself as a production-forward space built for immersive live shows. With large-scale LED integration and powerful sound design, the venue aims to give touring DJs the room to build visually driven sets.
For Dr. Fresch, that environment matters.
His live performances lean heavily into sharp drops, bass-heavy transitions, and crowd-hyping moments. In a room designed for immersive lighting and crisp sound, fans can expect a set that hits from start to finish.
As Unlocked Entertainment continues expanding its 2026 programming slate, bringing globally recognized electronic artists to Western Canada remains a priority. The April 3 show strengthens Vancouver’s spring electronic calendar and gives local fans a chance to experience one of the genre’s most recognizable names up close.
