Dangerous Sex Offender Earon Wayne Giles Now Living In Surrey

Surrey RCMP has issued a public interest warning under the Privacy Act of Canada regarding a dangerous sex offender who poses a high risk to re-offend. Earon Wayne Giles was released from prison on Friday, May 24th, 2019 and is now living in Surrey.

According to a police statement, Earon Giles received a twenty-two-year sentence in 1997 after being convicted of 6 counts of Break and Enter and Sexual Assault committed against women in the City of Surrey.

Earon Giles has been deemed a high risk to re-offend and is currently subject to a number of court ordered conditions, including, in part,

  1. Keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
  2. You shall remain within the Province of British Columbia unless prior written permission to go outside the Province is obtained from the Court.
  3. You shall have no contact, direct or indirect, with any of the victims of the offences for which you have been convicted or any known members of their immediate families.
  4. You shall not attend within 300 metres of any known residence, place of employment or educational facility of any of the victims of the offences for which you have been convicted or any known members of their immediate families.
  5. You shall not consume or possess alcohol or any controlled substances as listed in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act excluding prescription medication prescribed to you by a licensed physician or dentist and you can only consume prescribed medication in the dosage prescribed by the doctor or dentist.
  6. You shall not enter any bar, tavern, liquor store, beer and/or wine store, or business whose primary purpose is the sale or distribution of alcoholic beverages.
  7. You shall not possess, own or carry any weapon, including but not limited to any firearm, crossbow, prohibited weapon, restricted weapon, prohibited device, ammunition, prohibited ammunition or explosive substance, and any related authorizations, licenses and registration certificates.
  8. For the duration of this order, you must obey a curfew by being inside your residence between the hours of 10PM and 6AM, each day.
  9. You shall not possess any tool or device that can be used for the purpose of restraint, including but is not limited to: duct tape, straps, rope, or wire unless specifically needed for onsite employment which is approved of by your bail supervisor.
  10. You must not possess any tools or instruments capable of use from criminal activity, including: pry bars, screw drivers, bump keys, bolt cutters, pliers, blow torches, grinders, night vision goggles, slim jims, lock picks except while on your property and for the purpose of employment and then only when immediately engaged in work or travelling to or from your place of employment.

If anyone sees any suspicious behaviour including, but not limited to a breach of these conditions, do not approach Mr. Giles, but contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
