Hundreds gathered on Granville and Davie on Wednesday, January 31st to attend a candlelit vigil for slain nightclub worker Kalwinder Thind; the police shut down a portion of the street due to the size of the crowd.
Friends, family, and strangers flocked to the area. They brought flowers, signs, and music was played in honour of his life.

Vigil for Kalwinder Thind
On my way home I passed by the vigil for Kalwinder Thind, the 23-year-old nightclub worker who died after trying to break up a fight. They had rap music playing for him from one of his friend’s trucks. Very sad. pic.twitter.com/qMK5CtfxSx

Thind was only 23 years old when he tried to break up a fight in Cabana nightclub and tragically lost his life. The young man was stabbed early in the morning on Saturday, and police are still investigating the killing. In addition, the VPD are asking the public to come forward with any details related to the case.
In particular, they are interested in cell phone photos and videos from witnesses that come forward.
