We’ve been waiting for an In-N-Out Burger to make its way across the border for a long time now.
CaliBurger has recently announced they will be opening a location in Vancouver. While it’s not In-N-Out burger, the eatery has been described as its doppelganger.
The fast food joint will be bringing their delicious California-style burgers to the West Coast. The new location will be at 830 Thurlow Street and is slated for a May 2016 opening.
CaliBurger’s executive chef used to be a manager at an In-N-Out restaurant and has taken inspiration from the renowned burger giant.
CaliBurger’s signature ‘Cali-Style’ adds melted cheese and grilled onions to any burger or fries. This is similar to In-N-Out Burger’s ‘Animal-Style.’
In-N-Out Burger filed a lawsuit against CaliBurger for the similarities between the two burger joints. While the branding of the company was re-jigged and menu was re-vamped—the burgers remain the same.
There are a few distinct differences between the two—CaliBurger offers a slightly bigger burger patty than In-N-Out and the fries are fried twice. CaliBurger also offers booze-filled milkshakes.
Whether or not CaliBurger will measure up to the classic In-N-Out burger—we’ll just have to wait and see.
But this will now be the closest thing to an In-N-Out Burger that Vancouver has (excluding the 1-day per year In-N-Out visits Langley)—be sure to check it out and let us know what you think!
