Bon Jovi Vancouver Concert At Stanley Park Cancelled

Bon Jovi Stanley Park Concert Confirmed For August

The highly anticipated Jon Bon Jovi & The Kings of Suburbia outdoor concert scheduled for this Saturday, in Stanley Park has been cancelled.

The spokesperson from Bon Jovi Tours Inc. released the following statement after Paper Rain Performances, the event promoter, announced the show was postponed indefinitely.

“The band was ready and willing to give a great performance on Saturday. Unfortunately, the local promoter, Paper Rain Performances, has proven unable to guarantee a properly-produced event. … Bon Jovi Tours Inc. shares the disappointment of fans for this cancellation and we are grateful for the city of Vancouver’s support as we tried to keep this concert as scheduled for Saturday.”

While neither party has confirmed the specifics behind the cancellation, it’s clear there was a rift between the two which ultimately led to the cancellation. The major rift was the event organizers not being fully prepared, states Bon Jovi Tours Inc.:

“We have recently learned that Paper Rain Performances has failed to procure staging materials and failed to pay the band, staging, security, lighting vendors, etc. As such, they have not met their contractual obligations.”

John Coupar, the chair of the Vancouver Park Board, recently backed up the statement, after stating that the event organizers did not pay for permits required to hold the concert.

Despite the controversy, Paper Rain Performances is hopefully to reschedule the show sometime in the future.
