Oliver Twist is a sports pub and liquor store located at 757 Edmonds Street. An unpretentious bar for the budget-conscious, Oliver Twist offers Happy Hour from 3pm – 6pm with select starters at $5.95. Want an item not on the Happy Hour menu? You’re in safe hands – all menu items are $7.95 or less. Every weekday night has different specials but wine is generally priced at $5.95 and lagers at $3.95. A true sports pub, Oliver Twist offers generous selection of wings and poutine.
Hop & Vine Taphouse
Tucked away near the Burnaby Mountain Golf Course is Hop & Vine Taphouse. A revamped menu highlights the taphouse’s focus on craft beer with a rotating line-up of draught and bottled beers. If there is one thing that Hop & Vine Taphouse is serious, it’s the brews. Depending on the night you go, the specials vary so you may be up for a Caesar or whisky cocktail.
The lounge and patio at Earls Kingsway location on 4361 Kingsway Ave host Happy Hour 3pm-6pm as well as a late night edition from 9pm to close. From Margherita and pepperoni pizzas at more than half off during these times, and signature highballs at $3 and Old Fashioned drinks at $9. Earls is a safe bet for a night of casual fine dining.
If you’re near Metrotown, why not head to the Cactus Club Café that’s literally across the street from the mall? A competitively-priced Happy Hour with lager and parallel 49 beers at $4 and wine at $6, Cactus Club Café has one ace up their sleeve and that’s the bellini. Hitting the sweet tooth just right, and with a decorative animal figurine to top it off – the bellini works like a charm every time. Chicken wings, yam fries and flatbread round off the appys offered under the Happy Hour menu.
Stopping shy of Edmonds SkyTrain Station is Wings Pub. A large pub whose sole specialty is wings on wings on wings (in all its delightful varieties), daily specials can be found at its Burnaby location on 6879 Kingsway. It’s an ideal place to get a big group together. Ample room, spacious booths and TV screens galore means everyone gets a view of the game.
Billed as the Super Happy Happy Hour, JOEY Burnaby is all about elevating the Happy Hour experience. With extensive cocktail options including a list of fun concoctions like the Seven Seas or the Seven Cosmos, JOEY Burnaby provides a generous selection in addition to the regular suspects like $4 sangria and $4 ale and lager. Sliders come in at $3.50, same as the sushi cone and Hawaiian tuna taco. Every day at 1899 Rosser Ave, you can drop by JOEY Burnaby from 3pm – 6pm and 9pm to close and get in on the action.
Classic Italian fare in a modern, upscale environment. If you’re looking for a cocktail hour to celebrate and feel fine in, look no further than Trattoria Burnaby. Located in Element Hotel on 5988 Willingdon Ave, Trattoria Burnaby has cocktail hour from 2:30pm – 5:30pm and 9:30pm to close Monday to Friday. From $9.95 Sicilian calamari to $5 limoncello and peach mojitos, Trattoria Burnaby’s Italian twist on classic appy fare and cocktail drinks make it a welcome addition to the crowded market for Happy Hours in Burnaby.
