Snowfall is already in the BC forecast for parts of the Southern Interior starting on Monday, September 18th.
After an exceptionally dry, hot summer, Environment Canada states that a cold front is moving into the region early Monday morning and start will remain for the rest of the week.
Snow Predicted In BC Forecast
The affected areas will include the districts of Boundary, East Columbia, Kootenay Lake, Nicola, Okanagan Valley, Shuswap, West Columbia and West Kootenay.
While snowfall may stick, the weather alerts predict that there will only be a few centimetres at most.
The majority of the snowfall is expected to occur at higher elevations and is not expected to accumulate.
The cold weather comes after much of BC experienced weather advisories this summer due to hot weather mixing with fine particulate matter from wildfires.
