Friday’s extreme weather conditions have potentially resulted in a plane skidding off the runway at Abbotsford International Airport.
According to the airport spokesperson, a charter Island Express flight went off a runway and crashed into a rasberry field.
The incident took place at about 12:30pm.

In total, 10 people were on board. 2 were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and 2 with non life threatening injuries. The remaining 6 were uninjured.
Emergency officials including ambulance, police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene.

At this point it’s uncertain if the weather played a role. An investigation of the incident will be conducted by Transport Safety Board.
Meanwhile at YVR, the current weather has led to numerous flight delays and cancellations.
