While it happens a great more around Christmas, the cherry blossoms don’t deter thieves from stealing packages right from people’s doorsteps.
That’s exactly what a thief in Richmond did on Monday, April 2nd, under an hour after a package was delivered.
The victim posted a video on Reddit of the suspect stealing the box from under a mat on his doorstop.
The suspect rolls in on a bike, and then looks around suspiciously as he slides the package out and onto his bike. Next, he ensures the package isn’t sliding off the bike seat as he rides off.

Richmond Thief
The victim mentions on Reddit that the suspect ‘works fast.’ Indeed, the package was delivered by Amazon at 2:30 PM and subsequently stolen at 3:05 PM, under an hour later.
Sadly, this kind of theft occurs more and more frequently. In fact, Amazon drivers and citizens have noted that thieves follow their delivery vans around. As a result, thieves are able to work quickly.
If you have have any information regarding the suspect, please contact your local RCMP. The RCMP Reference for this case is #18-998.
