Gastown is a national historic site in Vancouver and one of the most unique neighborhoods in the 604. It resides in the northeast end of downtown, which was Vancouver’s original downtown core.

The neighborhood was named after “Gassy” Jack Deighton, a Yorkshire season, and steamboat captain who arrived to the city in 1867.
