This weekend the African Descent Festival takes over English Bay Beach on Saturday and Sunday 11am-9:30pm.

Join our two-day 10th anniversary of the festival showcasing local and international megastar talent, the famed African drum circle, Samba dancers, poetry and storytelling, African history in Vancouver presentation, African dancers, delicious food, vendors and more!

Our 2024 headliners are global megastars Jose Chameleone from Uganda, Nkulee Dube, TK Dube and Lucky Dube from South Africa on the Lucky Dube Celebration Tour, joining our Canadian artists of African decent Emmanuel Jal, Kharli McClelland, Mr. Fantastik and Samba Fusion and many others!

Admission is free and donations are encouraged. Bring blankets and shade for a hot summer beach day!
