After a fire was sparked on the ground floor of the two-story Forest Hill Plaza, located on Scott Road at 83rd Avenue, a number of businesses were destroyed.
The fire, which had occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, is believed to have started in the basement of the complex, where several businesses stored their merchandise.
It did not take long for the fire to spread to the second floor, sending smoke and flames skyward and growing into a massive inferno believed to have consumed between six and eight stores.
No injuries have been reported, however a BC Hydro worker who is believed to have fallen down near the scene was loaded into an ambulance.
It is still yet to be determined by the police what caused the fire.
